There’s good news for holidaymakers: Puerto Naos on La Palma is gradually coming back to life. Since June 2024, the popular beach resort has experienced a strong revival in tourism, and things are continuing to improve.

Current Highlights in Puerto Naos
- The entire beach and promenade area is now fully accessible. The previously required QR code entry system has been removed.
- Private holiday rentals, hotels, restaurants, and beach bars have reopened, welcoming visitors once again.
- A 360° CO₂ monitoring system with more than 1,600 indoor and outdoor sensors ensures air quality and guest safety.
- Puerto Naos Beach has regained its Blue Flag status, a prestigious international award for clean water, sustainable management, and safe infrastructure.
- A lifeguard service is now in place all year round from 12:00 to 19:00, supporting safe bathing and leisure at the beach.
- The much-loved Puerto Naos Triathlon returned on 14 June 2025, showing clear signs of normalisation and vibrant community life.

Puerto Naos is once again a vibrant coastal village, slowly but steadily returning to its old charm. With reopened beaches, accessible holiday rentals, newly revived gastronomy, and consistent air monitoring, it’s becoming a safe and lively holiday destination on La Palma. Tourists can once again enjoy sunset sea views, beach walks, and a relaxing stay near the Atlantic. Life is returning — and so is the holiday spirit!
Additional Info for Visitors
- Since June 2024, most areas of Puerto Naos have reopened, including the main beach.
- QR codes are no longer required for access.
- CO₂ levels are constantly monitored; values have remained normal for several months. Only a small section near Playa Chica remains closed.
- Elevators in most buildings are temporarily out of service due to ongoing inspections — higher apartments are reachable via stairways.
- The SPAR supermarket is open daily from 11:00 to 19:00.
- Dining options are expanding:
- La Ola restaurant reopened on 7 November 2024
- The Chinese restaurant at the village entrance reopened in December 2024
- The beach bars on the sand and promenade are serving again
- Bar Barsilikum and the small local shop “Sabores” (with outdoor café seating) next to SPAR are open
- The German bakery reopened in July 2025

- For a more authentic experience, the three fish kiosks in El Remo offer fantastic local cuisine nearby.
Not all holiday apartments are available yet, but more are expected to reopen gradually in the coming weeks.
